Climate Clock: Counting Down the Climate Crisis
Introduction
HOST is a proud supporter of Climate Clock: a pioneering project using technology to highlight the urgency of the climate crisis and how much time is left to act.
The project combines art, technology and science to create a striking visual reminder of the distance which to public spaces and interfaces, with support from HOST helping activists engage in global climate campaigns.

Their mission
Climate Clock combines art, technology, and grassroots organising with a simple tool: a clock that counts down the critical time window to reach zero emissions (the "Deadline") and tracks global progress on key solutions, such as gender parity and fossil fuel divestment (the "Lifelines").
By implementing Climate Clocks across major cities, educational institutions and offices, Climate Clock draws attention to our shared, critical mission—combatting the climate crisis and collaborating on a just transition. They work closely with youth and Indigenous activists globally, building networks and skills to engage with international climate campaigns.

The challenges
As a grassroots project with a small budget, Climate Clock navigates changing political contexts and barriers to advocate for climate justice internationally.
Their challenges include:
- •Navigating global financial and legal infrastructure whilst raising funds to keep the organisation moving forwards
- •Financially supporting international activists and contractors, across multiple currencies
