Their mission

Culture Declares was founded in the United Kingdom in 2019, to bring together a network of arts and culture practitioners to acknowledge and face the climate emergency.

Their network connects individuals and organisations across the cultural, heritage and arts sectors, sharing diverse knowledge and practical support for pursuing justice and regenerative change.

Both individuals and organisations are invited to sign the Declaration: a powerful, collective statement acknowledging the urgent threat to Earth, and committing to taking action towards transforming global systems for the better.

Culture Declares builds community, across UK-based and international hubs—united by a shared belief that culture can reach hearts, change minds, and drive action. They work to ensure arts, culture, and creativity are central drivers of a just transition, towards a new, sustainable world.

Culture Declares Quote

"HOST/Climate2025 have supported CDE from the outset. Initially, they guided us in a process to develop our sociocratic way of working, mandates for our work group structure, consent-based decision-making processes, etc. All of this has stood the test of time."

The challenges

HOST has supported Culture Declares since they were first established. They sought advice on creating fair, collaborative, and lasting organisational structures:
  • •Building structures to allow the organisation to work in a socratic way, without the usual, hierarchical structure of a legal entity.
  • •Efficiently channelling resources and skills into movement building.

Our partnership

HOST partnership has allowed Culture Declares to focus maximum energy on their powerful organising and network building:

Covering Financial Responsibilities

HOST provides financial services—accounting, book-keeping, payroll, and contracting— allowing Culture Declares to dedicate their resources and skills to building a vital, cultural movement.

Supporting Where Needed

Our guidance in the early stages supported Culture Declares as they laid the groundwork to becoming a flourishing, global movement. Now, we're here when we're needed, for reliable, day-to-day advice.

Culture Declares Quote 2

"HOST provides robust financial and banking services and responsive and reliable day-to-day support. We are enormously grateful for their services, which have helped us focus on the vital work of movement building. Heartfelt thanks to Liam and the team from all at CDE."
